Restaurant Gas Safety Certificate
Commercial kitchen gas safety inspection and CP42 documentation for restaurants and professional catering premises.
We Are Ready To Help You
Commercial kitchens using gas appliances need a competent maintenance and inspection regime. Catering RS provides gas safety inspection and documentation for restaurant and commercial catering equipment, commonly referred to in the industry as a CP42 commercial catering gas safety certificate. For related support, see Commercial Gas Appliance Servicing.
What is checked during a commercial catering gas safety visit?
The exact checks depend on the installation and equipment. A competent engineer considers the condition and safe operation of the relevant gas appliances and associated safety arrangements rather than treating the visit as a paperwork exercise.
- Commercial gas catering appliances
- Visible gas installation and appliance connections within the scope of the visit
- Flame supervision and relevant appliance safety controls

Is a CP42 certificate the same as routine maintenance?
No. A safety inspection is not a substitute for effective appliance servicing and maintenance. Related support is available through Commercial Kitchen Gas Interlock Testing & Servicing.
Who should work on commercial catering gas equipment?
Gas work must be carried out by a suitably competent Gas Safe registered engineer whose registration and commercial catering categories cover the appliance and work being undertaken. For fault-specific information, see Gas fryer burner not igniting.
Catering RS help us with our very varied work requests. From schools to restaurants to high profile brands they're always ready to get to site.
